Bridezilla! It's Sacred Vows Polaris!
Words can not express
what a pain in the butt this project was. It started, as do many
of my figures, as a joke. It was a "Hey, wouldn't it be stupid if
I made a custom action figure of psycho Lorna in her wedding gown?"
moment that got a few giggles followed by some worried looks as it
became clear that the wheels of customization had already begun to turn
in my head. This was, of course, right after the wedding issue
came out. Now many, many, many months later the Bridezilla figure
makes her debut!
Wedding Polaris here started out life as a ToyBiz Dazzler body with a
ToyBiz Magick head (ie - spare parts). She then got some
cosmetic surgery courtsey of Sculpy (yes, I started her before I
learned about the miracles of epoxy putty). So she got a Sculpy 'breast
enhancment' and cool Sculpy accessories like arm bands and a neck
collar. She then got shelved while I made figures that I really
wanted to make. Finally I took pity on her and sculpted her some
hair with epoxy putty and made her satiny skirt complete with twist-tie
hem for ultimate poseability as she smashes wedding guests and
bridesmaids galore. I painted her, sewed her skirt onto the
figure and sealed it with an epoxy belt. Then I add the glass
bead accents to her skirt and popped 'ol Daddy-Mag's helmet on her and
she's ready for the reception! A lot of work for a joke
figure. I know.
