X-Factor from those Golden David/Stroman days!

Ok, this all started because another customizer (DoubleDealer) made a great Multiple Man using a Marvel Legends Gambit figure. I always wanted to do a Multiple Man figure,  Jamie being my #2 favorite character ever.  Of course he needed a Polaris to play with and truthfully I was just looking for an excuse to rip open the Marvel Legends box set with the Rogue figure.  I bought it intending to use her for a Polaris figure but shelved the idea when I realized that she was going to be a $40 action figure and I ain't that good.  But if she were part of a really cool set?  Well that would be different.  Havok just kind of happened.  Still trying to figure out how to make a Marvel Legends Strong Guy and Wolfsbane.  Anyway if you're curious as to how these guys were made or just want to see solo shots of them keep scrolling down.  If not, thanks for stopping by as always!

Lorna was made from a Marvel Legends Rogue figure (boxed set exclusive).  I chopped off her over-the-knee boots and sanded down those and the patented Marvel Legends female crotch buldge.

I then used epoxy putty to scuplt her some neato linebacker shoulder pads and add the detail of her zipper and pull.  I kept Rogue's original belt, I just cut it, repositioned it and used E6000 to glue it into place.
She then got a healthy dose of spray primer (in white) and a really careful paint job. ($40 action figure, remember).

The biggest problem was all her straps.  I tried lots of things like foam tape, toothpaste tube and putty but wasn't satisfied with any of them.  In the end I used a super secret technique to cheesy and embarassing to detail here.  Ok, ok, they are painted twist ties.  I know.  I suck.

But I am pretty darn pleased with how she turned out.  The hair was perfect for Stroman's style.  I tried to paint her face in his style as well but she looks more like Arwen from LOTR. *shrug*  I'm ok with it.  Really.

Multiple Man here is a Marvel Legends Gambit (ala Doubledealer as stated above). He has a great smirk and of course the trenchcoat.  The hardest thing about Jamie was finding a version of his uniform that was fairly consistent.
I took off all of Gambit's hair with the good 'ol exacto knife and removed his little bib thing and knee pads.  I used epoxy putty to fill in the dip that left in his chest, sculpt his skull cap, thigh pads, chest pads/details and fill in  the lines on Gambit's boots.
White spray primer, paint job.  I ran into trouble here again because of variations in his uniform.  The issue I was working off had yellow gloves on the cover so his were yellow first before I went "Ugh.  I thought they were blue."  And now they are.  Very.
I was nervous about his face because I hadn't done guy's faces before (except for eyeless Colossus) but Jamie has nice brown peepers. I'm working on another Jamie now having learned a lot from this one.  Hey, you HAVE to have multiple Multiple Men.
UPDATE - Multiple Man on your um...right....that is the right looking at the screen...aw damn.  Anyway - He's new.  I used a "X-Men Classics" Archangel figure which was waaaaaaaaaay easier than using ML Gambit because there was NOTHING to remove.  Just added stuff with epoxy, painted him and voila!

Sigh.  I really don't like Havok.  I never had and that made this figure really difficult.  He's one of the new X-Men Classic Gambit figures (rubber trench).
I cut down his trench coat to make a jacket then used epoxy putty to fill in his boots and arm bands and add the rest of his headgear.  Simple, right?
He got primered and thats where it all went wrong.  I let him dry for DAYS anticipating problems with his jacket.  When I plunked him down to be painted the primer started peeling off his jacket in big flakes so I had to take it all off with a stupid toothbrush.  (I hate Alex.  Did I mention that?)
I did a pretty half-a$$ed job painting him because I hate Havok and was totally fed up with the figure at this point.  Of course, he ended up looking really good.  I hate him.
